Made to be In Manhattan: #BlogTourNYC
If yesterday was any indication of a typical “Blog Tour” I am seriously addicted!
Our adventure started yesterday when we arrived at our hotel in Manhattan’s Sanctuary Hotel. From the moment we rolled up in our Blog Tour Uber car just as it did on our trip to Paris last fall – we were thoroughly impressed! The doorman was so inviting… “Hello! Good Evening! Welcome!”
The hotel’s facade is gorgeous! Traditional lines lit up with modern neon lighting. As Marc and I walked in, the interiors were dark and sexy but chic and colorful… sounds like a perfect date. {Wink. Wink.}
As we checked in, the front desk offered us a variety of flavors of hot tea. The bellman who delivered our luggage spent an entire 5 minutes explaining the A/C so we could actually understand and CONTROL the temperature…a rare talent! There is nothing worse than a cold hotel room or one that’s too hot when you’re 50!
Our room is tiny as many New York hotel rooms are, but it’s beautiful! I can appreciate working with a small space and the designer did a really great job of making it stylish and cozy!
After we checked in, we went upstairs to have a bite in “Stairway to Haven” a rooftop lounge located on the top floor. It was SO COOL!!! To look up through the plastic wallcoverings to see the highrises all around was awesome!!! And since we arrived on St. Patty’s Day – all the lights were underlit with neon green snowflakes -the perfect mood for St. Patty’s Day.
Our dinner was amazing. I had the Tilapia with brussel sprouts and grilled veggies and Marc had the Filet Mignon – everything was exceptional!!!
We were told we escaped the parade traffic by arriving later in the afternoon. One of our fellow bloggers had to walk for six blocks with two large bags of luggage because the streets were blocked off for the parade!
Marc and I arrived a day early and tomorrow I will tell you about our first day discovering design in New York City!
Thank you, Modenus for coordinating #BlogTourNYC – Marc and I feel truly honored to be a part of your group!
