So!.. A Designer walks into a Bar….
Well.. the bar was in a spectacular home where we were asked to furnish the entire home..Luckily for me, all of my incriminating bar stories happened BEFORE social media was prevalent… So haha kids – I feel sorry for you!
But back to the point…
Whenever we start a new project there are lots of questions and excitement but the largest question mark in our client’s minds was..” What are we going to do with that extremely large bar??? What can you do to make it a Wow factor?”
The design concept didn’t come to me right away, but what sparked it was looking thru tile samples! You never know when inspiration will strike!
I thought…”Hmmm.. I love geometrics – How can we utilize a pattern like this and with what materials?”
Recently, I have been in love with colored mirrors.. so I decided to call out and mix mostly gray and a little copper glass for the mirrors. (The homeowners contracted with Davis Glass and I must share, the entire experience was wonderful!)
For the base of the bar, the owner picked gorgeous onyx slabs.. The added Wow factor is that lighting was added and will shine through the onyx when lit at night.
A pencil sketch started the process and a 3D rendering brought it home for our clients! We shared this concept before showing the rest of the home plans.. and they practically jumped up and down! We were definitely off to a good start!
